Potomac Audiology provides complete audiological exams and evaluations. Our specialty is hearing aids with the use of "Real Ear" or "Probe Microphone" Measurements. This allows us to measure the performance of the hearing aid in the ear during the programming process which take into account the acoustic properties of the ear. We know exactly what the hearing aid is delivering to the eardrum all across the frequencies. Most hearing aids are not fit with this method and may be over or under amplifying in different frequencies. Hence, people describe that things are louder but not necessarily clearer or audible.
